Movies Made In Beaufort
There has been over a twenty-year history of film making by major motion picture companies in the Lowcountry. Beaufort has such a large and well-preserved historic district and some of the most beautiful places in all of South Carolina. It's no wonder the film industry has discovered this area as a wonderful place for a variety of possible settings. Many homes in the area have been used in films, and the local surroundings provide an endless array of scenery. In fact, nearly every motion picture filmed here has become a major blockbuster. For a recorded message with a list of the films currently being shot in South Carolina, as well as openings for crew (and occasionally cast members), please contact the South Carolina Film Office, (803) 737-3022 (in the Columbia, South Carolina area) or 1-800-269-7281 (outside the Columbia calling area, but within South Carolina) or check the following web site at www.scfilmoffice.com. Information is updated as the Film Office receives it. The Film Office is a division of the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism.
